OMG this was such a great read!! The story starts with Graham Walker-Pleasure is being held hostage by some crazed woman. And while he is held we learn Graham Walker's past. How as a young man that came from a good family loving mother and father that was just trying to find himself. Wouldn't go to school and stayed in constant trouble. Graham eventually became a sex addict whom learned this behavior from his father Tylar whom constantly sexed all different types of women all the time no same in his game. Its discovered that Graham was molested by an older boy at his mother's church and which effected his life. This also had him question his sexuality and played a part in him sexing women. Hanging with the wrong type of women got him hooked on drugs but he pulled through it. Once he pulled through it he met his best friend Quinn. They discussed everything and hung out together. During this time Graham became Pleasure the stripper and learned his craft, skill and earned big money and a helluva reputation. He never really knew what love was and every time he thought he did it came with a price. But what really blew me was how it ended and it was discovered that the crazed woman holding him hostage was his used be friend Quinn which ended up being Lionel the child molester!! That negro had gotten a sex change and after all those years was attracted and so-called loved Pleasure!! Now that was a helluva twist to this story for sure!! This book would not allow me to put it down to the end. A totally great read and I would definitely highly recommend it.

I couldn't put it down!!! The crazy just kept calling me!!! I was up till 6am tryna find out who the crazy was!!! READ THIS ONE!!! The sex is off the chain too!!!

I love it but its different than the book i down loaded to my phone

I heard the author on the Diane Rehm show--and decided to purchase the Kindle version of the book. At the same time, I also purchased Salt Sugar Fat: How the Food Giants Hooked Us as he was on the show too. As I got my Kindle book immediately, I began with it first. I'm so glad I did.First off, the book is just really well written. The author is an excellent writer--and her book is crafted quite well. It draws you in immediately. Th whole history of chemicals, additives,food science, and food safety is completely fascinating. I knew none of it. I also had no idea just how much artificial chemically engineered crap goes into our food--nor that the US allows so many additives which Europeans and other countries find harmful. Why??? I realize that we have a laissez-faire attitude to much--but we're talking about our and our children's health. You would think that based on that, we'd be a little bit more concerned with what went into our food and its safety vs. big business and profit. Like so many things in America, profit trumps all.I've learned so much. I had no idea how cereal was produced... veggie burgers... artificial colors/flavors, etc. I had no idea just how prevalent all of the chemical preservatives, enzymes, and additives are in our foods--pretty much everywhere, and not always labeled so that you'd know that.I'm about 3/4s of the way through. It's Sunday night, and I started reading this on Friday night. Today I went to the grocery store--and I was quite wary of purchasing my usual standard food--especially the cereal and other stuff. I'm sure I'll still buy Cheerios and some other processed foods--but probably less, and with my eyes a bit more open. Was going to purchase some cookies, and decided that we'd bake them instead.I feel that we as a country need to at least work to get the food additives banned in other countries, banned here. Major food companies have alternative versions of their products already created for these non-US markets, we should at least pressure them to offer those versions here.Oh, if you go to the author's website (or search on Youtube) you can see her videos of eternal food...including the liquified chicken tenders.Eyes opened. Thank you Melanie!

A very interesting book if you want to learn how corporations started altering once healthy whole foods in America. Taking real cheese and creating a fake cheese and passing it off as better than natural cheese and for the purpose of long shelf lives and huge profit for corporations, people wereexcited to be able to try this fake cheese......Cereal companies take grains and dry them, create a slurry mush....then re-formulate that mush into something like cardboard....totally devoid of everything that was in the whole grain in the first place....and let us believe we're eating actual grains....The mention of nutrients on the package lets the public believe they're eating something nutritious and healthy. It goes beyond just describing what has taken place for way over a century by altering natural foods..... Just about all drycereals have added synthetic nutrients after all the real nutrients found in whole grains were removed....the fiber is gone, the natural oils are gone.Then they add chemicals and ingredient you can't pronounce....There is no reasonable facsimile of a whole grain left....and after 6 months a box of cereal sitting on a shelf, a huge percentage of even the synthetic nutrients are gone as well..... After reading this book, I'd never in my lifetime ever want to give myself or any family member a packaged box of cereal. I wouldnot eat fake American cheese...It's just a shame to learn what has happened to the notion that we're eating real food...

Really thorough, in-depth look at how our food became "food like substances." She really gets right into the meat of the matter by showing consumers the stuff that food manufacturers don't want to tell anyone. She talks about how soybeans get turned into oil and other stuff, how corn is fermented into various substances added to foods, how chemical-made enzymes sneak into even organic foods, and how empty the rules really are regarding food additives and safety. Terms like "minimally-processed" and "natural" are completely void of meaning. Parents and children's caretakers have no clue in the world what they're actually stuffing into the children in their care. Even the most well-meaning person makes serious mistakes when choosing food to eat or serve--partly because ingredient lists are created to be as confusing and misleading as possible, but also partly because consumers don't tend to know anything about how food is produced even in a best-case scenario.She does fall a little into "CHEMICALS! BOO! HISS!" thinking, such as was debunked so grandly by SciBabe last year when FoodBabe was at her most popular. Her exact examples are the same ones that Vani Hari campaigned with in many cases. But overall, one can't deny that her conclusions are sound: that greater processing results in lower nutrition, that we're better off eating less-processed food than more-processed food, and that adding vitamins and other function to food doesn't result in the nutrition that manufacturers really want us to believe it provides. Other conclusions seem inescapable as well: that we really have no idea what some of this processing does in the body, that we're not actually sure at all what some of these chemicals even do either singly or in concert with any others, and that the more stuff is processed the worse these effects will become. At the same time, she discusses her own real efforts to feed her family while bearing in mind the facts she's uncovering.The best thing one can take away from this book is that we, as consumers, need to be paying attention to what we buy for ourselves and our families, and that we need to be aware of the trade-offs we make when we sacrifice food quality to lower its expense or save time.

I am not much on reviews but I felt I had to address stephen nelson's of his book "quicken 2015 for DUMMIES" I have been an avid user of Quicken for longer then I remember. Unfortunately I stopped the upgrades. I decided to start using quicken and so my daughter bought me the latest version for my mac. We installed it and transferred my data. I have looked high and low for books that I thought would help me. Looking over the program I soon felt like a dummy so I got out my quicken 2015 for dummies. I soon realized that stephen nelson was the bigger dummy than I was. I was the dummy for buying his book! Why do I speak about the book the way I do? I thought he was going to explain and walk me through the program as if I didn't have a clue about what he was talking about. For starters he uses pictures in the book. I said great. I started looking at the images and the author must wear glasses with coke sized lenses. I don't have a magnifying glass to help me. I wear glasses which don't help either. His images do not look like my images so I think he sold me a new book but the information in the book is from a previous program.I am now looking for a new bookkeeping program so if anyone can recommend one I am sure we would all be grateful. Even Intuit could not help me.

Spoiler Alert - this book is only for Quicken2015 Windows users - I have a Mac and the Quicken version for Mac looks nothing like the features that Mr. Nelson describes in his book. Example, Mac version has no Find/Replace feature described in Nelson's book.

You would still need the primary (red) Quicken book, but this has additional useful information. The book layout is scattered, so you have to hunt for things, but it includes more detailed information on some topics than the Quicken book. Unfortunately, it appears they have stopped publishing this books for newer versions of Quickn.

This is as witty as other Dummies books but there's a problem with the print quality. When the author shows what you should be seeing when using Quicken, the images are so blurry you can barely read the example. Also, be aware that it is voluminous and if all you want to do is record transactions in a checkbook, you might be better off just googling your question.

It didn't add a lot to my knowledge. I feel like quicken home and business is a finicky program and I was hoping this book would make that easier. The book did a great job covering all the basic points. In the end I think my problem is with quicken. Lol.

The book fulfilled my needs as a new user of Quicken very well. It was a far better choice than paying Quicken $40 for added service and then having to wait 20-30 minutes to chat or talk on the phone. The book is clear and well well written. I recommend it to anyone using Quicken.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong butt I'm always having to look something up in my book and I'm so glad it's there to help me the program itself doesn't seem to have enough directions for me anyway

Although this is typically the standard for "dummies" there were some really basic steps that were just jumped over. Good but not great.

About the Author

Mike Polsgrove has been writing Model Railroader magazine s DCC Corner column since 2003. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering and has worked as the motive power electrical engineer for two railroads. Since 1989, he has been designing digital electronic circuits for Eagle Test Systems. Mike has been a model railroader since the 1960s, and he is currently constructing his fourth layout.

This book is an essential starting point for anyone wanting to consider Digital Command Control (DCC) for their model train layout of any scale. A better title for it would be "Basic DCC for Your Model Railroad". It provides "exceptionally integration knowledge" on all of the DCC Components and Component Features offered by various manufacturers plus the author's experience and "watch outs" on the installation and operation of the various components.The reviews that state the information contained in this book is available for free on the Internet are inaccurate because the "Author's Integrated DCC Perspective" contained in this book is not available on the Internet; however, each DCC System and DCC Component manufacturer offers "free" information on the devices they sell. Wikipedia has a "very basic" page on DCC plus the National Model Railroad Association (NMRA) has established DCC Standards and Recommended Practices; see their site. Additionally, the author is an Electrical Engineer who currently designs Electronic Circuits for Eagle Test Systems; most of the "Internet Free DCC Information" that I have read is very (very) basic, has errors, and the authors do not provide their credentials."Basic DCC Wiring for Your Model Railroad" starts with an overview of DCC followed by a logical progression of DCC system planning for a model train layout; it includes individual chapters on DCC "Track Wiring", "Boosters and Power Districts", "Turnouts and Reversing Sections", "Cab Bus Wiring", "Decoder Installation and Programing", and "Converting an Existing Layout to DCC". Mike Polsgrove outlines DCC features offered for each type of DCC Component but does not endorse any specific manufacturer's components.An appendix is included that lists the nineteen (19) "DCC System and Component Manufacturers" with both their street and internet addresses that were in business at time of the book's publishing; all are still in business.This integrated DCC information in this book enables anyone to plan, design, and install DCC on their model railroad. It provides all the information you need to "Plan" your DCC system. By "Plan" I mean what "DCC Components and Component Features" you want for your specific layout. You will need to gather and summarize the "Features" offered by the various DCC System and Component Manufacturers to complete your "DCC Layout Design" and enable you to purchase both your DCC System and DCC Components. A second appendix included in this book and entitled "Tools for a DCC Workshop" along with the "Wiring" information provided throughout the book plus the DCC Component Manufacturer's installation requirements of the DCC components you purchase will provide you all the information you need to install DCC.

Recently I decided to introduce 'grandboys' to "grandpas" train hobby first practiced 61 years ago. Modern day model railroading is not your fathers Oldsmobile. It is a whole different world for which only the very basics of soldering and 'set building' are useful now. I've used parts and pieces of 7 different books including, especially, Basic DCC Wiring For Your Model Railroad. The illustrations are excellent -- large, and clear -- and very helpful for tasks requiring skills. Several different subjects are covered, perhaps not in the detail which may be eventually required; but also included are resources and reference that should lead to the buying of additional guides in this series. Having everything in one place would require a tome of several hundred pages and wouldn't cover everything. DCC is really fun and the possibilities with it are endless. But reference guides, construction/implementation care, patience and money are going to be necessary. Polsgrove has another book: DCC Projects and Applications that gives an excellent glimpse at what can be done. I'd recommend buying that one and Don Fiehmann's "The DCC Guide, How To Select And Use Your Command Control system. Having understood these, a novice or returnee is off to a flying start.

I would not recommend this book for someone already very familiar with DC wiring of model railroads. You can find out everything you need to know about the basics of DCC freely on the internet if you have a good foundation. This book sticks to the basics.However, for someone (like me) with limited knowledge of DC wiring, having just done a basic layout with unitrack, this is great. It's hardly exhaustive, but covers the basics well enough for me to actually understand what's being talked about on the internet. I really appreciated that Polsgrove *did* talk about specific brands in spots. I was leery of buying this because I didn't want to get something that only spoke in generalities. That alone bought it a star or two from me and made me feel that while basic, this book was worth the cost vs time spent trying to find freebie guides on the internet.

Mike Polsgrove (author) is a regular contributor to Model Railroading magazine's DCC materials. Mike knows his stuff and this is a good book for your DCC library. If you're just beginning in DCC Mike can be a bit hard to understand sometimes, but as your skills get better, a lot of his insights are time and money savers (e.g. you won't burn out expensive DCC equipment). The focus is on decoders for locomotives although he does offer basic coverage of track wiring and zone separation.

GREAT ! After not model railroading for forty plus years most of what I had was "old school" . DCC was new and beyond my means. This book helped me catch up and taught me things of which I had no clue. It tells you the meaning of terms used and directions are clear, simple, and not beyond almost anyone. The pages of useing DC and DCC together is worth the price alone ! I am very happy, and would recommend it to newcommers to DCC and before investing in the wrong products !!

The book arrived on time and in good condition. It is a good introduction to implementing DCC for your model railroad. As with many technical books the vendors continue to introduce new and improved modules almost constantly so you are well advised to read the book with your web browser open so you can check for revisions and updates as you go along. Even with this caveat I am well pleased with this book.

I am new to DCC and this book is a great guide to wiring a layout. I have modeled in DC for nearly four decades and finally have made the decision to switch. I am building a new layout, rather then converting an old one. The wiring diagrams, schematics and principles are well explained and ease to work with.
