This is a more approachable presentation of what Henri Cartan does in his "Differential Calculus", originally in French and now out of print, at least in the English translation. Usually an undergraduate mathematics student takes a multivariable calculus course and then, either as an undergraduate or graduate student, learns smooth manifolds modelled on n-dimensional Euclidean space. This amounts to dropping the hypothesis of the space being linear (at each point the tangent space is linear, but the space itself is now not demanded to be a linear space), but keeping the condition of working with n-dimensional Euclidean space. In fact I think it is useful between a multivariable calculus course and a smooth manifolds course to learn what is done in this book and Cartan, calculus done in a way that works with any normed space rather than finite dimensional linear spaces. Things that are identified when working in n-dimensional Euclidean space are thus seen to be objects that are related but not identical, like the gradient and the derivative. This is also the right language to understand the Hessian. Things like the FrÃ©chet derivative and the GÃ¢teaux derivative are not esoteric and should feel natural to work with, and they are a systematic way of doing the calculus of variations. Coleman has chapters on flows of vector fields, a hugely useful topic, and a chapter on the calculus of variations done using differential calculus in Banach spaces.

You get what you pay for! I use it but it doesn't really represent the color. The pages are child coloring book quality with black on the back side of the paper. The black distorts the color and markers bleed through the horrible paper quality.

I gave the book 3 stars because the paper is yellowish. Not good for color charts at all. I use it for recording the color combinations that work for me and color combinations from the tutorials.

It's ok. Wish there were more boxes to color and less lines to write on... many even varying size boxes

As mentioned in other reviews, the paper is backed in black, so it has a tinge to the white on the front. While the markers looked more "normal" after they had plenty of time to dry, the colors still don't look like they do on double-sided white. Since the d-sided white will be what I print the coloring pages on, I won't rely on the book. I'll probably still use the book to help organize color groups, I'll ultimately trust the colors swathed on the paper I'll be coloring on.

Very disappointing. The paper is cheap and each page was printed with a black backend. As a result it denatures the color of the swatch. I would have done better to use white printer paper stored in a binder.. which is what I now started to do with better showing of colors! And you canâ€™t use it for markers like prisma premier or Copic because the cheap paper drinks too much of the ink so you canâ€™t show the blending. At the end of the book are 5 drawings to color but it would not occur to me to use them directly still because of the black backing and the cheap paper. Itâ€™s just not worth the money

What a brilliant idea! I have hundreds of coloring tools, gel pens, colored pencils etc... And this is a great way to create reference for them. Jade Summer did it again! Such a talented lady!

So glad i purchased this. All pages are large (8.5 x 11) with 28 squared boxes to put your color sample on. The back of each page is blackened. Overall good book would recommend..

I bought this book to get a better idea of how my pencils and markers would look on Amazon/Createspace paper. I've found it's a very handy book for organizing my supplies. I also appreciated the extra pages with pictures to color

I thru-hiked the Pacific Crest Trail in 1996; to this day, memories of that life continue to make me smile. The sweet innocence of the unknown, the lessons still to be learned. I found myself seeking and finding special places, and treasuring the times when I could feel deeply. In nature, I saw more moments that in my mind could not be possible, and yet they happened. I remember the uncertainty, the not knowing of what would be. But, at the same time, as my knowledge increased and gave power, it also limited me. Knowledge created a boundary that at times became the border of my life. It was only by questioning what I knew and in doing difficult things that I could grow. Here I learned my four treasured lessons:Take care of those whom you love.Take care of your health.Do not limit yourself to what you know. Try and learn.Share your life. I will use this book on the trail. It is strictly a data guide. Don't expect any extra info, tidbits, or recommendations for resupply, etc. As long as that is all you want than this book is great.If you are wanting more information to help plan your hike you will need something more. I like that this book is lightweight so I just make notes in it about information from other sources. For example, best campsites, best hostile, best resupply points, nearby points of interest, etc.

I hiked over 200 miles of the Pacific crest Trail this summer, and did about three separate sections. On each section, I found that this book had some landmarks that were not on Halfmile's maps, but in general, I found the descriptions of the landmarks very vague, to the point where I could not identify what they were talking about (e.g., "saddle overlooking a scenic view"). Also, there were several landmarks that were on Halfmile's maps but not in this book. By the time I was on my third section, I was not using this anymore.

It's informative but lacking in info about trail towns. I thru hiked the AT in 16 and used awol's guide. It's very informative. Just for trail use its acceptable. It does have some phone numbers to trailer angel's etc.

Very detailed for an overview of the trail and would definitely recommend that any PCT hiker buys this. It's incredibly lightweight and points out very useful spots. On top of this, I would suggest buying/downloading detailed areas of each section.

I may never hike the trail, been an old guy, but a friend of mine who's abit older (87) sure due enjoy reading and dreaming, maybe just maybe, we may find the wrinkle time, and be able to try a few miles, again thank you, from all of us old guys with a dream,

This is a fantastic book that gave all of the essential data for planning my family's trip to the trail. It outlines water sources, resupply areas, trailheads, and more. I even bought a second one so that both my husband and I could have our own to make notes in. It's a perfect source of information for a very reasonable price!

This book is EXACTLY what I needed to plan several long PCT trips! I like the way it is organized and I hope the author updates the data contained therein on a periodic basis to keep this a must have good for all PCT hikers!

Section hiked the southern half of Oregon and brought this book along with the PCT: Oregon/Washington section rebound to fit the section we were on. A good book, lots of good information. I found that the 1/2 mile app and this book give different mileage markers, which can be a bit confusing, but not enough to get you lost. The book does not include a many of the possible resupply points in it, so only using the points given in here will have you carrying more days of supplies than you need to between points.Between this book, the PCT: Oregon section, and the half mile app we never got lost despite 10 mile sections of snow drifts.A good book to begin planning your adventure.

I was so excited when I found Cycle Savvy! I bought it and read it before I gave it to my little sister. It talks all about the female cycle and what to expect throughout your cycle. It goes over the reproductive system, what the symptoms of a infection are, what to expect on your first pelvic exam, general gynecological health, how to chart your cycle, etc... There are cool pictures, games/tests at the end of each chapter so you can see if you learned the basic points, and the personal accounts throughout the book are really helpful. I like that it doesn't encourage charting your cycle for birth control, but it does have information on contraceptives and STD's/STI's. I found that this book is mostly geared toward teens that arn't sexually active but I think that it is a good read for the ones that are.I bought Taking Charge of Your Fertility before I bought this one for my younger sister. I was astounded with all the information about my body that no one ever bothered telling me. Why weren't we taught this in Health class, or why didn't I find all this out from my Mom or Sister at least!?!? I then realized that they were all ignorant of this information. How could they teach me when they were Ignorant of it in the first place. I wished someone had been knowledgeable enough to hand me Cycle Savvy when I was in Highschool. It would have saved me a lot of confusion and self loathing when all those bodily changes where taking place. I decided to start informing the people around me of this awesome info. I told my friends, mom, and older sister about Taking Charge of Your Fertility, but then I came to a problem when I thought of my 13 year old sister and I knew she needed this information the most. I knew she would get overwhelmed by such a big book and she didn't need to know about achieving pregnancy and menopause. I was so happy to find Cycle Savvy! It allowed me to be a better role model and provide my little sister with the information about her body that she deserves to know.Let's choose knowledge for our teens over ignorance.

When I saw it was written by Take Charge of Your Fertility's author, Toni Weschler, I looked no further. A gift for my 14 year-old niece to help her navigate the years to come, "Thank you. I really needed this" she said. Cycle Savvy is exactly what we ALL needed when we were teens. Thank you, Toni Weschler, for finally writing it!

I read Taking Charge of Your Fertility first. Reading this one blessed my grown up self with a few extra tidbits that helped make up for what I missed out on as a teenager growing up in a very strict home. I wish there would be a book something between this and what I had. But certainly as an adult it was healing to read.

I give this four stars only for the fact that the charts and infographs should be in color. There is reference to the different colors to show different aspects of the charts but since they are in black and white it renders some of the information moot. This is not a deal breaker for me. The information presented is balanced, clinical, factual , and scientific without being dry. I got this for my daughter and read it over first. I am shocked at how much I didn't know about my own body. She presents the female body as something you should be proud of not embarassed about what we as women go through. She encouragges you to know yourself not just knowing what your parts are labled but what you look like, yes in your private areas, for knowing this leads to better awareness if anything has gone awry. She also talks openly and candidly about sex. Iknow for some of us this is a shocker and uncomfortable due to our upbringing. But again talking about sex is vital for our children to know and respect themselves so that they can make infomed decisions about their lives and bodies. I encourage everyone to read this even dads and sons. the more we as a culture understand how our bodies function and preform the healthier we can be not only physically but mentally and emotionally.

A must have book for all teenage girls. My mom handed this book to me when I was 13 and I was absolutely appalled! I read it none the less and I buy it now for my college friends whose moms weren't open enough to teach them about these things! It is super useful and descriptive enough for information without being gross.

Our copy ended up printed upside down, but the information inside was unaffected by that. My 13 year old has found it very informative and helps her to learn about how her body works.

Toni has done it again. This a great book for teen girls to help understand their menstrual cycle. Toni's adult version - Taking Charge of Your Fertility has been my go to book for myself and friends and midwifery clients. This is another favorite.

I am sending Cycle Savvy to my 14 year old niece. If only this book had been available to me at 14. It would have been extremely helpful to my future when my husband and I attempted to plan our family. After getting an education and working in family planning for the past 20 years I am often surprised at the lack of understanding many educated women and men have of a women's fertility cycle. Cycle Savvy is full humor, personal stories and accurate information on how to learn about your own fertility cycle and how it affects your life as a teen. What a great time to learn about your cycle prior to becoming sexually active as a woman. The last section of the book raises the issues teen face as they consider when they will become sexually active. Cycle Savvy could be a great way to open up this important discussion between parent and teen. This is what I am hoping for my sister and niece.

This book is straight forward and has helped me realize that my feelings towards my wife's infidelity are not only normal, but are something that I can overcome. I was absolutely shocked how the author hit the nail on the head with real world examples of exactly how i feel. I'm not done with the book yet but so far I have not been able to put it down. My wife and I are working on making our marriage work so I am having her read this book with me each night so she can understand my emotions and help herself deal with what lead her to cheat in the first place. This book is perfect- it helps both the hurt partner and the unfaithful partner understand their actions, their reactions to themselves and each other, and how to cope with ending or continuing your marriage.I was hesitant to purchase this because just reading the title stings a little. It's a terrible reminder of something that should never happen between two loving people. I feel like it takes a bold person to purchase a book like this because it seems so much easier to not think about the things that hurt us. I'm just a regular guy, not endorsed by the publisher or amazon, but I can tell you that the best thing you could do for yourself or your marriage is to add this book to your amazon cart and start healing the right way. Realize that your feelings are common and you're not crazy, irrational, or undesireable as you might think.What do you have to lose? The book was under ten dollars, cheap in regards to what I believe it's worth. Be strong enough to seek guidance because you are not alone. Good luck.

Look, most cheaters are inherently selfish. That's the main reason they cheat, for most of them. This book would fool you into believing you can overcome your partner's limitations in this area and have a happy marriage. I say bull! My husband showed me he was selfish before he cheated, I just didn't pay attention. That's my own nieve stupidity. I now know what is behind the saying once a cheater always a cheater, it's the fact that selfish people don't magically change and start behaving altruistically. This book tries to hold YOU the betrayed person partly responsible for your partner's selfish behavior. I disagree with that and it's why I can't give it a full recommendation. The author says, "Are you overreacting to the infidelity?" No way! You cannot overreact to a nuclear bomb that just obliterated your life!The book does do a good job of showing you that you're not alone in your pain, and might be able to explain to your partner why you hurt so bad. But in the end, your partner likely cares more about the fact they are facing consequences rather than the reality that they hurt you. If they cared about hurting you, they wouldn't have cheated in the first place. If your partner has cheated once and you want to work it out, get the book. If they have cheated more than one you probably need to leave. Cheating is abuse. She doesn't come right out and say that but she should. She beats around the bush at it. The most important thing is your own sanity and mental health. Take care of yourself, even if that means leaving.

This is such a great book . It has such detailed information and insight to understanding the whole of the affair. The author gives such a good breakdown for both sides and it has given me validation and clarity to wheat I have been experiencing through the separation. I love how the author gives examples through real client stories and also through research studies and scientific evidence. I'm still very hurt to what the affair has caused in my life and my children's life , but as I read through this book I have hope that I can A) move on and be okay or B) heave the right tools and guidance to rebuild my marriage if my husband is willing to also receive help, reconnect and recommit. I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again or for someone who is going through this. It's an outstanding book and easy to understand . If your longing to discover the "why's " and " what ifs " this is a great book to read.

This book has helped me & my marriage counselor gave it rave reviews & said it is one of the best books on the market right now. However, I dont like how unbiased it is. While it makes me understand my husbands feelings & what he did more it also made me feel that the wrongdoer didnt do anything 'wrong' in their section. I skimmed through the wrongdoer sections & didnt absolutely love what it said.

This book is good for couples who are considering working things out. There are "success indicators" that help the wounded partner feel a little safer in knowing what to look for to feel more assured the behavior won't re-occur. There are activities for both partners to go over together to help them explore the "whys" behind the infidelity to fix underlying issues and build a stronger relationship. There's a chapter on how to reunite physically after some healing has taken place.

My wife got the book first and I felt it necessary to read also. Very Informative as the unfaithful person I found this book causing me to look back at my entire life and what made me tick. Where my flaws lie and what I need to correct to either make my current relationship work or if thatâ€™s not to be how can I not make the same mistakes in future relationships

The book is not a bashing book but allows (if you are open) each side to see the perspective both partners. It does a good job detailing information and insight to understanding the whole of the affair. My mind was made up to walk away and file for divorce, my husband finally read this book and for the first time in 4 months changed his behavior and began having real conversations about the affair. We are not out of the woods and I'm not sure what will happen but we can at least have conversations that may lead to repairing the marriage. I highly recommend this book for many reasons.

The guidelines set down by St Benedict seem other worldly at first read. Talk of corporal punishment and sleeping ready for work and prayer make it easy to discard the book as history long gone, never to be relevant today. But there are more points of guidance for today then one may want to see. How much better to be disciplined to daily prayer, to speak with respect to elders and with kindness to those needing our care, and to know one's place in God's order than to live from circumstance to circumstance like being tossed about by the sea? Many thousands have been shaped by this rule and have lived successfully both behind monastery walls and outside them teaching and nursing and doing social work. Hospitality takes on new meaning having read this short book then simply matching napkins to table mats for a dinner party. Worth a read for history's sake and a second or third for lessons on living gently and wisely for today.

If you are looking for a simple version of the rule and do not want someone's opinion of what Benedict is saying then I recomend you get The Rule of St Benedict, editor PlanetMonk Books, translator Boniface Verheyen. I got this book first and it was not what I was wanting. The one by PlanetMonk Books is much better. It is broken up by days and set up so you can skip to the day you are wanting. And it is just Benedict's writing. I am much happier with it.

This is the little booklet that St Benedict wrote around AD 528, according to the introduction. While it is usually thought of and applied to monastic life, St Benedict makes clear in the prologue that his text is meant for anyone who wishes to "return to [God]." Thus this is not some kind of antiquated text meant only for religious. Not only may we learn from St Benedict how to more deeply love, obey, and give ourselves to God, but we get a very good idea of what early monastic life was like. Finally, the text can be read in one or two sittings. It's an easy read and one that if done prayfully and with the proper dispositions, can help you to fall more deeply in love with Our Lord.

Father Benedict's Holy Rule. Live life by it.

Let me just say that there are many editions of this classic book that are much more affordable, but if you are looking for a book that will last a lifetime, a book that feels wonderful in your hands, this is the edition you want! The Rule is a pocket-sized book, nicely printed on good paper, bound in genuine leather, with a ribbon marker. The leather is thick and soft, hand-bound over sturdy boards, and it even smells wonderful. Perhaps the perfect edition of The Rule of St. Benedict. Highly recommended.

I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in understanding in depth, the life of a religious and what their daily life entails, but also, a chance to to glimpse how humanity should strive to live with one another as it is written for. US in the holy gospels. I gave it five stars because I haven't found another rule except the bible that can compare, another good read would be john michael Talbot book ( the lessons of st. Francis). Living a monks life in today's real world. I think was very well written.

This is an excellent resorce of various texts on the Blessed Virgin Mary throughout history by His Holiness, Pope Benedict XVI, one of the truly brilliant and eloquent teologians in the Catholic Church today. A must have on anyone's bookshelf who is a true student of Marianology.

I love Brendan Kelso's versions of Shakespeare and Dickens. They are perfect for kids 8-13. Gets them ready for high school when they read the real stuff. I've directed several of Brendan's books for small casts of kids in theatre workshops. Two Gentleman is funny and well-edited.

Your kids will love Kelso's Two Gentleman of Verona!

A wonderful book in an ingenious series!I am not currently teaching but taught 4th grade and my students would have absolutely loved this series!I would recommend for upper elementary through high school as Kelso translates ancient puns and phrases into captivating and humorous language students can understand.I laughed my way through the book and thoroughly enjoyed this particular story. I was not familiar with the original as I was with more well known works like Hamlet and Macbeth, but feel I could provide a summary better now than I could have from reading Shakespear's version!It's an excellent way to incorporate drama, the classics, and fun reading info the classroom! Highly recommend.

I received a free review copy of this book.This is a decent introduction to the weirdness of Shakespeare for a young audience! If you can follow who's in disguise and why, and who's lying about what to who, you'll have a good grounding in what to expect from more adult literature! The lines make it pretty obvious - ad libbing and breaking the fourth wall are encouraged. I will admit, as the players point out in this version, that Julia gets stuck with a cheating loser in the original. Luckily, the kids won't let their play end that way!I liked the different versions included for different group sizes, although I was surprised that the other romantic rival doesn't appear if there aren't enough people! Evidently, the dog is more important than Thurio's plot.

I just can't say enough awesome things about Kelso's Two Gentlemen of Verona. For me, the best part is the accessibility of the text! Kelso get's right to the meat of the story and brings the poetry of Shakespeare to kids (and several laughs for the grown-ups). As a theatre director, I've worked with high school students as they stumble through Shakespeare's actual text and I've worked with middle school students with Kelso's Playing with Plays Shakespeare and had more success with the later. I had kids lining up to participate in Kelso's Shakespeare plays instead of picking their own monologue or duet scene to perform in. Two Gentlemen of Verona continues to deliver the same wit, easy text interrogation, and versatility of Brendan P. Kelso's other Playing with Plays Shakespeare scripts. I also love the Sneak Peak of three other scripts at the end! If you're looking for new ways to introduce Shakespeare, or classic literature to your students or kids I highly recommend Brendan P. Kelso's Playing with Plays seriers!

What I have really come to love about this series of books is how fun it can be for younger kids as well. I have three, the youngest being six. She is starting to read pretty well and books like these allow her to learn a classic story in a way that she can handle and actually enjoy. Even better the kids are able to read to each other and the older ones have fun with the added nuances from the author. The little ones will love it even more. That is part of the beauty. You don't really need a stage. All the world is a stage! The length of the books are just long enough to capture the story while keeping the kids attention, which these days is not easy task. Well done overall. Definite buy.

Once again, Brendan Kelso brings Shakespeare to life in the most captivating and entertaining ways! Last year I taught Hamlet, Macbeth, and Midsummer to our 1st-5th grade homeschool co-op students, and they loved it! This year I'm tracing Tempest, Julius Caesar, and Romeo and Juliet. I'm going to use Two Gentlemen of Verona with our middle schoolers to study alongside Romeo and Juliet so they can contrast the two plays! The banter of Two Gents is hilarious to read even as an adult, and makes me fall in love with Shakespeare all over again - and you will too!

I am a huge fan of the entire Playing with Plays Series, and this is one of the funniest in the collection. At first, I had some reservations due as I am not a fan of Shakespeare's. Never fear, Kelso handles this in a clever way which sparked an excellent discussion with my children regarding the respect for women. These books are fun and educational. Don't hesitate to buy them for your children 8 and older!

Montaigne's Essays are one of the more enjoyable massive tomes of renaissance writing available, and if reading in English, one has two major modern choices of translation, Screech and Frame.To start with Translation: Both major translations are excellent in their own way, but some differences are of note. When a translation is done, usually the translator will translate the major language of the text, French in this case, and leave quotes by the author from other languages, mostly Latin in this case, untranslated. The translator will provide a note with the translation of the quote, and preferably the source of the quote.This is where Screech and Frame differ considerably. Screech does what should be done, and Frame just translates everything into English with no significant notations other than the person quoted. This means, however, that one may prefer one translation over the other based on this alone. For example, one that wishes to take a more scholarly look will likely use Screech (or the original), and one that simply wants to read for pleasure may have no problem using the translation by Frame. Also, Screech is British and Frame is American, so one may have other preferences for style.As for the Physical Copy:The physical copies of Frame's translation (Stanford and Everyman's) are vastly superior to the Penguin Classics Screech version. The Penguin paperback is thick, but in keeping with the generally small form factor, the print is terribly small, and the paper is of a horrible quality, which is the reason I also purchased the Kindle version.As for the Kindle version:The Penguin Classics Kindle file is much more pleasant to read and deal with than the paperback alternative. However, there are many errors in the Kindle version that are not present in the paperback version. It appears some items get corrected occasionally, but still, it is not nice to charge so much for the Kindle version, and not have it completely proofread and ready for primetime.This actually lead me to have a conversation with a Penguin representative about the quality of the Kindle version, and in that conversation, I learned something I had not realized before. Penguin does not produce the Kindle version. Amazon does. So, all of the quality issues I have noticed in the past about Kindle versions essentially are the fault of Amazon rather than the publisher listed. I suppose the publisher only sells Amazon license to produce the Kindle file and sets price limitations, and Amazon does the rest. This needs to change, because there needs to be more quality control.***EDIT 02/01/2016: SEE COMMENT BELOW BY RAFA. APPARENTLY, IT IS THE PUBLISHER'S FAULT, NOT AMAZON'S.***However, because of the limitations of the Penguin paperback, I would still recommend the Kindle version if one is to read Screech.Five stars for Montaigne's Complete Essays, regardless of which version one chooses to read.

I have three translations of Montaigne - Cotton, Frame (this one) and Screech (no kidding). The Cotton translation was done in the late 18th century and is some what difficult to read. Frame was done in the 1950's and is very readable. Screech is more recent and is also quite readable. Frame simply translates Montaigne's frequent Latin quotes whereas Screech presents the Latin along with the translation. While this may be more scholarly, it is distracting if you don't read Latin.The Frame volume includes other works by Montaigne such as his travel journals. Thus, it is more complete than either Cotton or Screech. This volume is over 1300 pages and is not very portable. Still I recommend it as being more complete and a little more readable.

I am attaching photographs of THIS version (Screech) so that you can see what you are diving into. My copy has been noted as I have been teaching him.MONTAIGNEThe writer to publish the first personal essay, and most essays are short and intriguing in that they use psychology to communicate his messages. This is done through poetry, historical references, linguistics, theology, imaginary scenarios and intriguing language. every essay is a paradox. You do not need to know that, hence the enjoyable aspect. Montaigne has influenced writers/figures like Eliot, Freud, Shakespeare, Descartes and more.SCREECHâ€™S INTROIt's important only if you are interested (or are required) in understanding the translation process. Screech dives into the history that influenced Montaigne's essays. His introduction tells you a bit about Montaigne, but it is not that long and can be skipped. He also explains how he went about translating his version of this collection.OMISSIONS OF WORKS IN SCREECHâ€™S BOOKThere's stuff missing in a bunch of the collections because he has written so much. If you are looking for something rare or specific, you should look which book it is before purchasing. All of them are available on Amazon..HELP FOR STUDENTSSome college professors are adamant that only this book be read. You might need to write papers with citations. This book is very different than the other books. Screech's is better for students and scholars. It includes citations and the very short Latin and French quotes that he uses, though all of it is translated into English for you. The Latin and French line/quotes/references are usually very short. The translations are right next to quotes in parenthesis. If you purchase a different collection, you will have a very difficult time with writing papers because of the varying translations.Overall, this is a phenomenal read produced by a prolific and prominent man. Screech does a great job. This is the best book of the collections that I have purchased, though it is the most difficult to understand. Again, this collection is more for scholars and academics. Montaigne is studied to this day, nearly as much as Shakespeare because of the sheer difficulty of the paradoxes presented, but, they are enlightening and enjoyable. In terms of literature, Montaigne is one of the "trickiest" reads (he calls himself tricky-- it is a bit of his trademark).

The subject of this book is Michel de Montaigne, a 16th century frenchman, famous for writing this book. The topics he covers range from the wisdom of the ancient philosophers to everyday nuisances present in the life of the late 16th century. The overriding theme throughout is his focus on himself, the only subject he is sure that he knows better than anyone else. This book is valuable because he writes about subjects that are still relevant to today, over 400 years later, and will continue to be relevant throughout man's history to come. He asks questions that every human finds himself asking at some point. He focuses on ethics and theology and the human soul, and much more.His writing style is relaxing and candid. The book is broken up into numerous seemingly disjointed sections and can be read for 10 minutes or a couple hours at a time. Montaigne writes in a friendly tone but also covers plenty of serious subjects. This book is unique in providing what life was like for one man who lived over four centuries ago.
