I was so excited when I found Cycle Savvy! I bought it and read it before I gave it to my little sister. It talks all about the female cycle and what to expect throughout your cycle. It goes over the reproductive system, what the symptoms of a infection are, what to expect on your first pelvic exam, general gynecological health, how to chart your cycle, etc... There are cool pictures, games/tests at the end of each chapter so you can see if you learned the basic points, and the personal accounts throughout the book are really helpful. I like that it doesn't encourage charting your cycle for birth control, but it does have information on contraceptives and STD's/STI's. I found that this book is mostly geared toward teens that arn't sexually active but I think that it is a good read for the ones that are.I bought Taking Charge of Your Fertility before I bought this one for my younger sister. I was astounded with all the information about my body that no one ever bothered telling me. Why weren't we taught this in Health class, or why didn't I find all this out from my Mom or Sister at least!?!? I then realized that they were all ignorant of this information. How could they teach me when they were Ignorant of it in the first place. I wished someone had been knowledgeable enough to hand me Cycle Savvy when I was in Highschool. It would have saved me a lot of confusion and self loathing when all those bodily changes where taking place. I decided to start informing the people around me of this awesome info. I told my friends, mom, and older sister about Taking Charge of Your Fertility, but then I came to a problem when I thought of my 13 year old sister and I knew she needed this information the most. I knew she would get overwhelmed by such a big book and she didn't need to know about achieving pregnancy and menopause. I was so happy to find Cycle Savvy! It allowed me to be a better role model and provide my little sister with the information about her body that she deserves to know.Let's choose knowledge for our teens over ignorance.

When I saw it was written by Take Charge of Your Fertility's author, Toni Weschler, I looked no further. A gift for my 14 year-old niece to help her navigate the years to come, "Thank you. I really needed this" she said. Cycle Savvy is exactly what we ALL needed when we were teens. Thank you, Toni Weschler, for finally writing it!

I read Taking Charge of Your Fertility first. Reading this one blessed my grown up self with a few extra tidbits that helped make up for what I missed out on as a teenager growing up in a very strict home. I wish there would be a book something between this and what I had. But certainly as an adult it was healing to read.

I give this four stars only for the fact that the charts and infographs should be in color. There is reference to the different colors to show different aspects of the charts but since they are in black and white it renders some of the information moot. This is not a deal breaker for me. The information presented is balanced, clinical, factual , and scientific without being dry. I got this for my daughter and read it over first. I am shocked at how much I didn't know about my own body. She presents the female body as something you should be proud of not embarassed about what we as women go through. She encouragges you to know yourself not just knowing what your parts are labled but what you look like, yes in your private areas, for knowing this leads to better awareness if anything has gone awry. She also talks openly and candidly about sex. Iknow for some of us this is a shocker and uncomfortable due to our upbringing. But again talking about sex is vital for our children to know and respect themselves so that they can make infomed decisions about their lives and bodies. I encourage everyone to read this even dads and sons. the more we as a culture understand how our bodies function and preform the healthier we can be not only physically but mentally and emotionally.

A must have book for all teenage girls. My mom handed this book to me when I was 13 and I was absolutely appalled! I read it none the less and I buy it now for my college friends whose moms weren't open enough to teach them about these things! It is super useful and descriptive enough for information without being gross.

Our copy ended up printed upside down, but the information inside was unaffected by that. My 13 year old has found it very informative and helps her to learn about how her body works.

Toni has done it again. This a great book for teen girls to help understand their menstrual cycle. Toni's adult version - Taking Charge of Your Fertility has been my go to book for myself and friends and midwifery clients. This is another favorite.

I am sending Cycle Savvy to my 14 year old niece. If only this book had been available to me at 14. It would have been extremely helpful to my future when my husband and I attempted to plan our family. After getting an education and working in family planning for the past 20 years I am often surprised at the lack of understanding many educated women and men have of a women's fertility cycle. Cycle Savvy is full humor, personal stories and accurate information on how to learn about your own fertility cycle and how it affects your life as a teen. What a great time to learn about your cycle prior to becoming sexually active as a woman. The last section of the book raises the issues teen face as they consider when they will become sexually active. Cycle Savvy could be a great way to open up this important discussion between parent and teen. This is what I am hoping for my sister and niece.

This book is straight forward and has helped me realize that my feelings towards my wife's infidelity are not only normal, but are something that I can overcome. I was absolutely shocked how the author hit the nail on the head with real world examples of exactly how i feel. I'm not done with the book yet but so far I have not been able to put it down. My wife and I are working on making our marriage work so I am having her read this book with me each night so she can understand my emotions and help herself deal with what lead her to cheat in the first place. This book is perfect- it helps both the hurt partner and the unfaithful partner understand their actions, their reactions to themselves and each other, and how to cope with ending or continuing your marriage.I was hesitant to purchase this because just reading the title stings a little. It's a terrible reminder of something that should never happen between two loving people. I feel like it takes a bold person to purchase a book like this because it seems so much easier to not think about the things that hurt us. I'm just a regular guy, not endorsed by the publisher or amazon, but I can tell you that the best thing you could do for yourself or your marriage is to add this book to your amazon cart and start healing the right way. Realize that your feelings are common and you're not crazy, irrational, or undesireable as you might think.What do you have to lose? The book was under ten dollars, cheap in regards to what I believe it's worth. Be strong enough to seek guidance because you are not alone. Good luck.

Look, most cheaters are inherently selfish. That's the main reason they cheat, for most of them. This book would fool you into believing you can overcome your partner's limitations in this area and have a happy marriage. I say bull! My husband showed me he was selfish before he cheated, I just didn't pay attention. That's my own nieve stupidity. I now know what is behind the saying once a cheater always a cheater, it's the fact that selfish people don't magically change and start behaving altruistically. This book tries to hold YOU the betrayed person partly responsible for your partner's selfish behavior. I disagree with that and it's why I can't give it a full recommendation. The author says, "Are you overreacting to the infidelity?" No way! You cannot overreact to a nuclear bomb that just obliterated your life!The book does do a good job of showing you that you're not alone in your pain, and might be able to explain to your partner why you hurt so bad. But in the end, your partner likely cares more about the fact they are facing consequences rather than the reality that they hurt you. If they cared about hurting you, they wouldn't have cheated in the first place. If your partner has cheated once and you want to work it out, get the book. If they have cheated more than one you probably need to leave. Cheating is abuse. She doesn't come right out and say that but she should. She beats around the bush at it. The most important thing is your own sanity and mental health. Take care of yourself, even if that means leaving.

This is such a great book . It has such detailed information and insight to understanding the whole of the affair. The author gives such a good breakdown for both sides and it has given me validation and clarity to wheat I have been experiencing through the separation. I love how the author gives examples through real client stories and also through research studies and scientific evidence. I'm still very hurt to what the affair has caused in my life and my children's life , but as I read through this book I have hope that I can A) move on and be okay or B) heave the right tools and guidance to rebuild my marriage if my husband is willing to also receive help, reconnect and recommit. I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again or for someone who is going through this. It's an outstanding book and easy to understand . This book has helped me & my marriage counselor gave it rave reviews & said it is one of the best books on the market right now. However, I dont like how unbiased it is. While it makes me understand my husbands feelings & what he did more it also made me feel that the wrongdoer didnt do anything 'wrong' in their section. I skimmed through the wrongdoer sections & didnt absolutely love what it said.

This book is good for couples who are considering working things out. There are "success indicators" that help the wounded partner feel a little safer in knowing what to look for to feel more assured the behavior won't re-occur. There are activities for both partners to go over together to help them explore the "whys" behind the infidelity to fix underlying issues and build a stronger relationship. There's a chapter on how to reunite physically after some healing has taken place.

My wife got the book first and I felt it necessary to read also. Very Informative as the unfaithful person I found this book causing me to look back at my entire life and what made me tick. Where my flaws lie and what I need to correct to either make my current relationship work or if that’s not to be how can I not make the same mistakes in future relationships

The book is not a bashing book but allows (if you are open) each side to see the perspective both partners. It does a good job detailing information and insight to understanding the whole of the affair. My mind was made up to walk away and file for divorce, my husband finally read this book and for the first time in 4 months changed his behavior and began having real conversations about the affair. We are not out of the woods and I'm not sure what will happen but we can at least have conversations that may lead to repairing the marriage. I highly recommend this book for many reasons.
