In fact, when I weighed myself Monday morning, I was down a pound more!” —LaCretia, a participant of the Eat, Live, Thrive Diet and Lifestyle Plan “I was fifty-six years old and twenty-five pounds overweight. I was tired of carrying around menopausal weight that would not budge, no matter how hard I tried or what diet I chose. Then I stumbled onto this diet plan. After the first week, the weight began to budge and I felt better. My hair began to grow thicker and wasn’t dry anymore, and my skin had a healthy shine. At about thirty days into this diet, I decided to develop an intermittent fasting routine that fit easily with my lifestyle. Then the weight and inches started coming off even more easily. I had increased energy and felt healthy again, something I had not experienced for more than ten years. Within six months, I lost twenty-five pounds and twenty-eight overall inches. Now, one year later, I’ve easily kept all the weight and inches off. I feel as if I’ve rolled the clock back twenty years.” —Sandi Thys, a participant of the Eat, Live, Thrive Diet and Lifestyle Plan “I have known Danna for the past twenty years. She has a unique ability to speak to the need of body, soul, and spirit, giving her a strong practical impact. They helped me discover things my doctors could not, and my gut is thankful! I could not wait to read this book. They confirmed hunches I have had for years about the connection between my brain and my stomach. The research is thorough and fascinating. And their hearts are beautiful. This book feels like a personal coaching experience with the world’s foremost experts in body wellness for women, but it also feels like a fun conversation with two girlfriends!” —Dannah Gresh, best-selling author of Lies Girls Believe: And the Truth That Sets Them Free and founder of True Girl

This plan has changed my life! I am down 40 pounds so far and I feel fantastic! I have changed my negative self talk and am getting more and more active. I want to be strong and healthy. Danna and Robyn are the best! This book is full of important info and a plan you can follow for life!

Our “diet” is our lifestyle of how and what we eat. As a woman over 50 I have struggled with the mid-section weight gain. I was excited to read this book, which I received a pre-release copy from waterbrookmultnomah. (Thank you for that advance copy!). I haven’t fully implemented all the strategies of this lifestyle. There are several elements of this lifestyle that I agree with 100% and are important factors in our lives. The first and most important to me is the power of self-talk and changing our thought process and gaining victory in our minds. I have read and seen scans of our brains and how our thoughts play such an important role in our lives. Our thoughts affect our attitude, our responses to others, how we feel, how we perceive ourselves and the world around us. Change happens from the inside our. In my opinion basing this on truth, God’s word, is extremely important and is fundamental.Danna and Robyn also discuss intermittent fasting and cutting certain foods for a short period while you go through an elimination phase. There are three levels to choose from. 😀 After the elimination phase you move to the discovery phase where you start introducing foods one at a time back into your diet to see how your body reacts. The last phase is a lifestyle phase. As I mentioned above, I haven’t made it very far and I’m still in the elimination phase.During the pre-release of this book I was able to interact on a coaching call. I can tell you that Danna and Robyn really care about people and want to truly help them achieve their goals and succeed. There were some basic things I learned that to some they might already know. I’m looking forward to seeing my results as I continue to implement this lifestyle. They also have recipes, I made an egg one this morning and served it to some guests and everyone enjoyed! I’m going to make one of their sweet treats after I finish this review!

For years I struggled with weight loss and finding a plan that will work for the long run. I tried everything and nothing worked or I bounced right back to my old weight. The Eat Live Thrive Diet is that plan! The book is an easy read that can be done a chapter or section at a time and not all at once. It discusses lifestyle changes that are flexible and sustainable. The recipes are excellent, easy to make, taste great and help curb your cravings for sugar, which I needed. The book shows you how to change yourself from the inside out. Danna and Robyn’ experience, knowledge and insight is invaluable. Highly recommend!

My rating is 4.5 starsOver the years, I have gone through dietary changes for various health reasons. Overall the way I eat would be considered ""healthy"" and yet there always seems to be some reason I need to modify what my diet.Despite the way I eat, my metabolism is not what it used to be and I am in the same boat as many other women out there wanting to conquer the weight that I have gained. And so when I saw that this book is specifically for midlife metabolism issues, I figured it would be worth checking to see if it would help.My thoughts:While there are some similarities, this is not a Paleo or Keto diet. In fact, the authors make a very interesting point about how strange it would be if God really did design our bodies in such a way that we have to trick them as the process of staying in ketosis requires. There is also a careful emphasis on making healthy choices even in the types of fats that you should eat.One of the things I appreciate is that this is not simply an eating plan for losing weight nor is it written by people who have never had weight issues. The authors have both struggled with weight, unhealthy eating, and image insecurities. In addition to suggestions on how to eat are encouragements from Scripture to not focus on outward appearance. Suggestions for when to eat as well as exercise and other lifestyle changes that can be made are also included. My experience with the diet:After reading the book, I started implementing the eating plan. There is an initial two-week elimination phase consisting of avoiding foods that are common sensitivities. After this phase, you are guided in how to slowly add those foods back into your diet in a way that you can identify which ones are a problem. The final phase is the ""maintenance"" phase.I'm now at the phase where I am adding foods back in after the two week elimination. Of course, my hope was that I would be seeing a reduction in my weight right away, but I will be honest with you, according to what I see on the scale and in the way my clothes fit, there isn't any difference yet. But with the various food allergies and sensitivities I deal with, I am not able to include a number of the recommendations in my diet. In addition, my previous diet had already excluded significant amounts of foods I shouldn't be eating, so the changes I have made have not been all that radical. Plus, did I mention it has only been two weeks? My recommendation:So here is my thought. Even if my weight doesn't change, there is some very good material in the book that can help to change the way you think about your body and the way you eat. If your diet is not very good right now, this is a very practical and balanced way of eating that can help. And I imagine others will have quicker results than I do because of the issues I deal with. So I recommend this to women who are at or past the mid-life stage and need to make a dietary change. I think this would be useful for younger women to get an earlier start into an overall healthy way of living.I was given a copy of this book. I was not required to give a favorable review nor was any money received for this review. All comments and opinions are my own.
