We love Laura Numeroff's Books based on the (If You Give a Mouse a Cookie). This book was no disappointment. Various characters from the collection of her books are included in this story. A great simple read board book for young children.
....That these books are so popular- whether it's an adult reading it to their child or the child is old enough to read it themselves- the "story" is entertaining, humorous and the illustrations are cute. From "When You Give A Mouse A Cookie"- ( one of Ms Numeroff's first publications that we started with) to the many numerous other books she has written and which now include Holiday themes-- You can't go wrong. This "Valentine" one is for my adult "child" to add to the collection. I now have to buy more for my young grandkids cause that "adult" child refuses to give them up! Oh, yeah- the books have lessons in "sharing" too!
Perfect book for more then just chocolate..kids get enough candy
We rarely buy holiday-themed books, but our 3 year old was struggling to understand Valentine's Day and this was an adorable way to explain it. She still reads it, months later. And it ties nicely with the Give a Mouse a Cookie/Pig a Pancake books. Good size, adorable content, run and easy board book.
My son really enjoys this book! He loves to find the mouse on the page. He was very excited to see the mouse, as he loves the Halloween book, It's Pumpkin Day, Mouse! Cute holiday book that a toddler will love!
Cute pictures, but I thought it would follow the normal story line of If You Give a Mouse a Cookie. It does not.
I work with preschoolers and wanted a simple book that I could use for Valentine's day. This is it! It is simple and not too wordy….their attentions are short :) I like that the mouse makes valentines for his animal friends. That made it simple for me to find some toy animals to use with the story to make it even more interesting for the children. Of course, we followed up the story with some making of our own Valentines. The book arrived quickly and was in 'new' condition, as described.
If You Give A Mouse A Cookie is one of my favorite childhood books, and this is a super cute companion book to follow it! I purchased this for my daughter for her first Valentine’s Day and look forward to reading it to her this week.
